How Do I Get To Hillview?

Hillview is approx. a 3 hours drive from Brisbane, and 2 hours from Ballina. For some camps, transport may be provided on a bus. Please get in touch if you need assistance in getting to the camp.

Drivinf From NSW North Coast: (Lismore/Ballina):

Take Bruxner Highway through Lismore and Casino and drive for 45 minutes. Turn right onto Clarence Way to Bonalbo. Follow 40 km through Bonalbe to Old Bonalbo. Turn right at shop at Old Bonalbo and drive 12 kms to Hillview.


Driving From Brisbane:

Head for Beaudesert from Brisbane. (Go down Gateway, veer right down Gateway Motorway as if heading to Toowoomba, and take left for Beaudesert down Mt Lindsay Hwy. Go right into town in Beaudesert and you will come to a set of traffic lights. Take the turn right on Mt Lindsay Hwy. Go straight through the town of Rathdowney. You'll then go through a mountain range. You'll come to a small town called Woodenbong. Turn left there- Urben St, and head for the next town, Urbenville. Turn left at Urbenville. After another 20-30 mins you will come to Old Bonalbo. Turn left at Duck Creek Rd, and it is about a 10 minute drive.

 

After turning onto Duck Creek Cd:

After about a 10 minute drive, you will cross 2 rickety wooden bridges (actually the second one is now a new concrete bridge). After the second bridge, the farm is

about 500 metres down the road up on the hill on the right.

What Is The Cost For A Hillview Camp?

Hillview camps are funded through free will offerings by people in local churches who wish to support it. There is therefore no set charge for people participating. Donations may be made to the following account:

Do I Need To Bring Food?

Usually at camps run by us we provide all meals. Please advise on the registration form if you have special dietary requirements.

If you are attending a camp on Hillview run by your own church, you will need to follow their instructions concerning food.

What Are The Accomodation Options?

We have a limited number of cabins available for campers. You will need to register for these. Alternatively, many choose to bring their own tent or caravan. Campers use a shared toilet and shower block.

What Else Do I Need To Bring?
  • Warm clothes for winter camps.
  • Sleeping bag, pillow and warm blanket
  • Single fitted bed sheet
  • Boots or old shoes and joggers
  • Old jeans, long-sleeved shirt and hat
  • Toiletry gear and Insect repellant
  • Water Bottle and Sunscreen
  • Backpack (if possible)
  • Small torch (if you have one)
  • Bible and notebook (if you have one)

Hillview camps are predominantly run by people who belong to the Christian Community Churches of Australia network of churches. This is a network which holds to mainstream Christian teachings- see details about this network here.

Hillview has always welcomed people from a wide variety of church backgrounds to attend. All are welcome.
