Bible Teaching
Workshops
Fellowship
Fun
Family Camp is on again and will held from Tuesday 27th December 2016 - Saturday 31st December 2016. Come and enjoy the company of others as we listen to Bible teaching, fellowship and relax. As part of Family Camp, we want to provide an opportunity for Christians that have a desire to think seriously over biblical subjects but for one reason or another, have not been able to access suitable Bible courses.
We encourage those that are keen students to avail themselves of the extra (optional) sessions at this years family camp. There are a variety of ages and needs which we try to accommodate. In particular, young people with the desire to grow spiritually strong - not only to stimulate and encourage a thoughtful Biblical understanding but also practical holy living.
Speakers
Mike Raiter - "No Turning Back"
Born in Liverpool, England and raised in New South Wales, Australia, Mike began his career as a high school teacher in Sydney and Pakistan. For many years he served the Lord as a Bible teacher in Pakistan, before becoming the principal of the Melbourne School of Theology, an evangelical theological college. Mike is currently the Director of the Centre for Biblical Preaching, an organisation that seeks to train and equip churches around the globe in expository preaching. Mike is also the author of a number of books, including Stirrings of the Soul: Evangelicals and the New Spirituality which won the 2004 Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge Australian Christian Book of the Year Award.
Phil Thomas - "A Focus on Faith"
Phil and his wife Adele have been based in Bundaberg, Queensland since 1999. During that time Phil has had responsibility as the teaching Elder at the Bundaberg Bible Chapel Fellowship. This followed five years as missionaries in Colombia, South America with prior experience in indigenous education and ministry. Phil has a diverse background in farming, trades and education as well as theological education and training. Phil and Adele delight in their four adult children and six grandchildren. He is happy with the simple things in life – a good book, a good meal, a good workshop and good family and friends. Apart from serving the church in Bundaberg, Phil’s ministry extends to itinerant teaching in other parts of Australia and overseas. He borrows Paul’s mission statement from Colossians 1:28-29 to capture his passion for life and ministry - Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me.
